In two previous calls, the Center has already appointed 13 outstanding fellows and is now opening a 3rd call aiming to appoint up to 6 additional fellows to start in 2021. Georg H. Endress seminar at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg held by the GHE Fellow K. Plekhanov with the title: "Corner and hinge states in higher-order topological insulators: Floquet engineering and coupled-layer construction", based on recent theoretical works (see publications). The seminar was rounded off with a subsequent lunch and brainstorming about more regular scientific exchange.

Meeting of the Georg H. Endress Postdoc Fellows at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg on December 10th 2018. The meeting comprised a seminar with short research talks held by the Georg H. Endress Fellows, followed by a Georg H. Endress cluster workshop where future steps were discussed. The meeting was enclosed with visits to some of the research laboratories at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg (visit of the Prof. Dr. Guiseppe Sansone Lab is shown in the above image).

First meeting of all eight current Georg H. Endress Postdoc Fellows in Basel. The meeting included a photo session of the current Georg H. Endress fellows, visits of some of the research laboratories in Basel and a consecutive lunch where research overlaps and possible collaborations where discussed as well as future meetings, workshops and seminars were planned. Second call for Georg H. Endress Postdoc Fellows

On September 26th 2019 the second call for Georg H. Endress Postdoc Fellows was launched. A large number of more than 60 applications  where received, including many dossiers of outstanding quality. Two Georg H. Endress Postdoc Fellows were appointed at the Center for Quantum Science and Quantum Computing at the University of Basel within the second call and another three Georg H. Startup Seed Grant

The two startup companies Qnami and BPI (Basel precision instruments), recent spin-off companies from the University of Basel, have been awarded a startup seed grant by the Georg. H. Endress Postdoc cluster.

Symposium Basel-Freiburg

First Georg H. Endress Symposium on May 17th at the Center for Quantum Science and Quantum Computing at the University of Basel. Roughly 20 posters were presented by delegates from the University of Basel and the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg, respectively. In addition, three spin-off companies from the University of Basel attended the event and introduced their products.
